The Minnesota Incident Command System released an updated Fire Progression map today, click the map above to see more detail. Click this link to see the hi-res pdf (5mbs).

Cooler, wetter weather in recent days, plus an influx of firefighters — now numbering 740 individuals from 28 states — have stopped the spread of the fire which had threatened Isabella and sections of the BWCAW rife with forest fuels from the 1999 blowdown. While officials are guarding against complacency, they say it would take nearly a week of warm, dry weather before the fire could move significantly again.

Progress of the firefighting effort can be tracked HERE on the Pagami Fire’s incident web site. The site also tracks Superior National Forest road and BWCAW entry point closures, HERE.
