Wolf Lawsuit Stayed Until June

A lawsuit brought by two Minnesotans and joined by the state’s Department of Natural Resources calling for removal of Upper Midwest wolves from the federal Endangered Species List has been stayed until June.

Minnesota Public Radio has the story HERE.

The suit originally filed by Gerald Tyler of Ely and Dale Lueck of Aitkin was stayed until June 10, 2011, while the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service completes a new delisting proposal for wolves in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The new proposal is due this spring.

The USFWS has tried twice, unsuccessfully, to remove the animal from its endangered list. Both attempts were thwarted by court decisions.
