A new book — The Firegrate Review: A Canoe Country Chapbook — published by the wilderness advocacy group Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness, gathers the BWCAW experiences of 19 writers in a collection of stories, essays, and poems.

Writers contributing to the collection include Peter M. Leschak, Kevin Proescholdt, and Paul Schurke. Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness communications director Greg Seitz, the editor of the volume, offers the book’s introduction.

“Just as every canoe trip is unique,” he writes, “so is how every person responds to the wilderness. And those who write about it put their words together in ways that are only their own.”

The book is available for purchase at the Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness web site, HERE.
