If you live in the Quetico Superior region, you probably already know this: July was cold and dry.
The Fort Francis Times puts a finer point on it in THIS story. July temperatures were 3.5 degrees below normal by one measure. While it wasn’t record-breaking cold for July on the Canadian side of the border, it was in International Falls. The city broke its low record for July monthly average temperature with 58.8 degrees Fahrenheit.
It’s also dry in the Quetico Superior region. Canadian-side monitors have recorded July rainfall totals around 75 mm, short of the average rainfall of roughly 95 mm.
