Wolf Delisting Suit Filed

As anticipated, a suit to remove Minnesota wolves from the federal Endangered Species List and to return management of the animals to the state has been filed in federal district count.

Minnesota Public Radio has a report on the filing HERE.

Ely resident Gerald Tyler and Aitkin cattle farmer Dale Lueck filed the suit in U.S. District Court in Duluth on Wednesday to remove the animals’ federally protected status. In January, the pair filed an intent to sue.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is eager to assume management of the species. Last month, as we reported HERE, the DNR petitioned the Department of the Interior for immediate removal of the species from the Endangered Species List.
