Forest fire danger in northern Minnesota and western Ontario is low, but that doesn’t mean area firefighters are keeping busy.
As THIS Fort Frances Times story reports, wild-land fire fighters from the Quetico-Superior region are helping fight fires currently burning in British Columbia. According to the story, the Fort Frances fire center has sent 20 members of its team to Canada’s far western province.
Western Ontario can spare the human resources because fire danger at home is very low, MNR fire operations supervisor Marnie Brown told the Times. Likewise, on the Minnesota side of the international border, most of the area is projected for low fire danger.
