The 2010 International Lake of the Woods Water Quality Forum is set for March 10 and 11, organizers announced yesterday.
The professional symposium is intended for researchers and resource managers interested in research and management activities related to the Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River. The forum features presenters from the both the United State and Canada.
The forum will be held at Rainy River Community College in International Falls.
The forum will focus, in part, on the nutrient budget and water quality modeling for Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River and on recent paleolimnological studies in the watershed. The forum will also feature keynote speakers discussing the use of lake sediments as a way of studying long-term environmental change.
