An international workshop hosted by the Heart of the Continent Partnership will explore the balance between commerce and nature at the organization’s International Communities Conference this fall.
The Heart of the Continent Partnership, a Canadian/American coalition of land managers and local stakeholders working on cross-border projects that promote the economic, cultural and natural health of the region, is inviting teams of community leaders and dedicated residents to explore issues facing communities seeking to balance community and economic development with preservation of the beauty and integrity of public lands in the region.
The conference will take place in Thunder Bay, Ontario and Grand Portage, Minnesota on October 24-27.
This workshop is open to teams of 5-8 people from the cross-border region. Teams may be centered around a community, a travel corridor, or some other unifying element. Teams are asked to strive for diversity of background and sector represented. Each team must have at least one elected public official and one public lands manager.
Detailed information on the workshop can be found HERE. The deadline for application to the congress is April 29.
