A new short film featuring Dave and Amy Freeman during the year they recently spent living continuously in the Boundary Waters is now available to view online. It will also show on January 19 at Midwest Mountaineering in Minneapolis.
‘Bear Witness’ follows them through the wilderness as they become more deeply attached to the place. It includes narration from both, reading their journal entries and social media posts, chronicling the joys and challenges of the four seasons.
The premiere also promotes a new petition from the Save the Boundary Waters campaign calling on Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken to support recent actions taken by Governor Mark Dayton and the federal government to stop mining at the edge of the Boundary Waters.
Outdoor apparel company Patagonia provided grant funding to produce ‘Bear Witness.’ It was directed by Nate Ptacek and Matty Van Biene.
